Architecte de formation, Nicolas Lelièvre s’intéresse à nos milieux et environnements, qu’ils soient urbains ou dits naturels : les formes des villes, les images que produisent les paysages, les expériences et parcours que l’on peut y inventer. Ancrées dans le réel, ses œuvres s’articulent le plus finement possible à des contextes chaque fois différents. Choisissant ses outils au gré des circonstances, il produit des formes hétérogènes directement issues des réalités morphologiques, sociales, politiques et institutionnelles de l’espace.

Son travail donne lieu à des séries photographiques, des travaux vidéo, des installations, des textes, des parcours... et s’incarne depuis le milieu des années 2010 dans des interventions in situ, principalement dans le cadre de commandes publiques (commandes municipales, 1% artistiques…)

Attaché au travail collectif, il poursuit un long compagnonnage avec l’architecte-designer Florian Brillet et collabore depuis toujours avec différents artistes du spectacle vivant comme le marionnettiste Renaud Herbin, le circassien Jean-Baptiste André ou le chorégraphe Laurent Pichaud. Dans le même esprit, il s’associe à toutes sortes d’entreprises et artisan·es pour mener à bien ses réalisations.

Architect by training, Nicolas Lelièvre is interested in our environments, whether urban or natural : the shapes of cities, the images produced by landscapes, and the experiences and pathways that can be invented within them. Rooted in reality, his works are finely tuned to different contexts each time. Choosing his tools according to the circumstances, he produces heterogeneous forms directly derived from the morphological, social, political, and institutional realities of space.

His work takes the form of photographic series, video projects, installations, texts, pathways... and has materialized since the mid-2010s in site-specific interventions, mainly as part of public commissions (municipal commissions, 1% artistic projects, etc.).

Dedicated to collective work, he has maintained a long-standing partnership with architect-designer Florian Brillet and has always collaborated with various performing artists such as puppeteer Renaud Herbin, circus artist Jean-Baptiste André, and choreographer Laurent Pichaud. In the same spirit, he works with all kinds of companies and artisans to carry out his projects.
